.
You only have to take a ride on a roller coaster to see who
gets more enjoyment out of the experience, those who clutch tight
with white knuckles and clenched jaws or those who let go and allow
themselves to be carried up and down without resistance.
When we come to the realization that holding on is something
that is draining, and it hurts, there is a natural release of
energy..a letting go..which always follows. (I usually reach this
point when I am ready to say “Enough Already”). We now find a sense
of calm and inner peace, because we are not in conflict. This
surrender restores our balance. And we are awake to our true
essence.
This journey, or letting go, never ends. Never. It only
begins -- over and over again -- every time we can glimpse at
something higher; of life beyond the limits of our present sight of
who we think we are.
A great way to help ourselves along the way is to allow
ourselves the option that what happened to us five minutes ago is no
longer of any importance because that was five minutes ago and this
is now. Oh, I have heard this so many times but habit has directed
me to do differently. Yet I know from my own experience in
reality all I need to do is experience any situation whatever it
may be and move on, immediately! And this may include
accepting the past even though I may not like it. As, if we are
holding onto anything, we continue to hurt ourselves.
The sun
doesn't resist its own setting - it lets go, knowing that it will
rise once again. As we practice our own surrender of self, this
(automatically) allows the dawning of a life, filled with all
kinds of riches, that is awaiting us.
